Nine-year-old Boy Seriously Injured after Hit-and-run in El Cajon

El Cajon, CA (October 4, 2018) – A driver fled the scene after her vehicle struck and seriously injured a 9-year-old boy on his bicycle this Thursday, October 4th, El Cajon police said. Officers responded to a call near West Main Street and Sunshine Avenue in El Cajon, where they found an unconscious child lying on the road at around 7:30 a.m. Medical transport took the boy, identity withheld, to a hospital where he was treated for significant head trauma, police said. Witnesses told police that the driver was eastbound running a red light when she drove into the path of the boy as he was pedaling on his bike northbound.
