Motorcyclist Dies in Crash, Driver Arrested
A 27-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after she crashed into a 32-year-old motorcyclist and he died on Thursday night.
The accident occurred at about 11:33 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the I-405 just south of the Sand Canyon exit, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Leslie Juarez, from Laguna Beach, was driving a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse when she hit a 2006 Nissan Sentra while traveling at a high speed.
The crash caused the Sentra to spin out of control into the center median and come to a stop in the carpool lanes. The driver of a 1995 Toyota Tacoma then hit the stopped Sentra.
That’s when the motorcyclist collided with the two cars. He died on impact.
The driver of the Sentra was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Juarez was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. She was later arrested on charges of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence.
