Car Splits in Half after Drunk Driving Crash

A crash in Seal Beach left a Nissan sedan completely severed in half just behind the driver’s seat and one person seriously injured.

The crash was reported at 2:15 a.m. on Lampson Avenue near Basswood Street. There was only one vehicle involved.

The driver was detained on suspicion of DUI, but was later released without conclusive evidence. She was transported to the hospital.

Apparently, the crash occurred when the driver lost control of the car and it hit the tree on the passenger’s side, cutting the car cleanly in half.
