Bobby Brown, Whitney Houston’s ex-husband, was pulled over at 12:20 p.m. in the San Fernando Valley for using his cell phone while driving and then failed a field sobriety test.

His arrest comes just days after the coroner’s report was released which stated that Whitney Houston, 48, had died of accidental driving and was found with cocaine and other drugs in her blood stream.

Brown, 43, was released from the holding cell about two hours later from the Van Nuys police station.

The two singers were divorced in 2007 after what can only be described as a tumultuous 14-year marriage. Brown has publically acknowledged his struggles with drugs and alcohol in the past as well as the numerous legal problems he has had due to the drug abuse.

Houston died on February 11 in the bathtub of her Beverly Hilton suite after she was found unresponsive. The official cause of death was listed as accidental drowning with contributing factors of cocaine abuse and heart conditions.
